Strength is the eighth card of the Major Arcana: a woman closing — or opening — a lion's jaws with her bare hands, crowned by the lemniscate. Nothing in the image is violent. The lion is not defeated; it is accompanied.
Traditionally it reads as fortitude, patience, compassion, and the mastery of instinct without its destruction.
