Classical tarot meaning: Ace of Cups
The Aces are seeds. The Ace of Cups is the seed of feeling: a chalice held out by an unseen hand, overflowing before anyone has drunk from it. It marks the very first moment of love, compassion, or creative tenderness — before it has a story attached.
Traditionally it reads as a new relationship, a reconciliation, a pregnancy of feeling, or simply the return of the capacity to be moved.

Upright: what it asks of you
Upright, the card asks you to receive rather than earn. Something is being extended — affection, forgiveness, an opening — and it does not require you to have deserved it first.
It also blesses the unguarded feeling: the tenderness you would rather not admit to, the care that arrives before you have decided whether it is wise.
Reversed: where the offering goes wrong
Turned inward, the cup is set down untouched. Love is refused politely so it cannot later be lost; feeling is rationed to keep the upper hand; or everything is poured toward one person who never held out a hand at all.
Reversed asks what you are protecting by staying unmoved.
